This books charts the ironwork that can be (or could be) viewed from the streets of Cheltenham.

The book begins with an illustrated explanation of the two very different processes used to form iron into architectural items; namely forging and casting.

The development of the town is documented, with reference to the ironwork so prevalent in Cheltenham. Black and white photographs are used when possible to show the ironwork, along with all information about the work and its makers that could be found through the author's research.

The period covered is from the late 1700s to early 1900s.
