Published in 2000, The Contemporary Blacksmith covers the forged ironwork of the 20th century, mainly the last 10 to 15 years, with some earlier work included to show the influences and progressions, that led up to the burgeoning of beautiful work created from the 1970s onward.
There are chapters on architectural ironwork, vessels and containers, furniture, lighting, fireplace accessories, sculpture, specialty objects and blade smithing.
It is full of mainly colour photographs of work by contemporary, artist blacksmiths.
