I look forward to my annual preview copy of Metal Design International. This latest does not disappoint. The authors spend much of their time travelling to places where artist blacksmiths gather, looking at work and meeting the artists .
They carefully select those they would like to profile. Consequently, these volumes give us an overview of some of the best, both in design and in quality, of the work of living artist blacksmiths world-wide.
2008 is packed full of high quality, full colour photographs of work spanning the careers of each featured artist, along with a short biography, thought processes and philosophy of each featured artist.
2008 contains an amazing range of styles and everything from railing to sculptures. I think this one is possibly the best so far.
