This book combines two titles, first published in German in 1935 and 1941. Both are translated into English.
The first sets out the work of Julius Schramm and some of his thoughts on the incursions into the craft of newer techniques and business practices. This is followed by a catalogue of his work, some of his experimental exercises and a few examples of much older work, used to illustrate a point.
The second book is an autobiographical account of his life as an artist blacksmith.
