The first section of this book tells Alfred Habermann’s life story in a very personal way. It gives an insight into the thoughts and personality of the famous blacksmith and designer.
The rest of the book is devoted to black and white photographs and sketches, showing his lifetime’s work. It is divided into sections according to the type of work, from functional architectural work, through sculptures, works for the church and restoration works, to small lamps and candle holders.
Most of the work is of a large scale and textured with hammer blows, which accentuates the fluid lines.
All the text is in German and English.
